Meet the Vessel

Acadia is a 90’ (27.5m) Sloop designed by award-winning Dutch Naval Architect, Andre Hoek, Hoek Design. Interior Design by Colleen Waguespack, & exterior modeling, wood work and design by Esra Smith.

Acadia was built by the world-renown Claasen Shipyard in the Netherlands. She was delivered in October 2016, outside Amsterdam.

Captain & Engineer Guy Dodwell

Guy found himself in and around the ocean from the same year he learned to walk. Growing up on the Atlantic Ocean in Portugal the sailing industry was a natural direction for such an ocean loving individual. With a huge interest in adventuring & exploring, diving & free diving, winter & water sports and most recently kitesurfing as an addition he spends more time on the water than on land. With deep appreciation for the ocean and its health alongside his qualifications as a Padi Div Master with near 1000 dives & MCA Master 200 with over 200,000Nm and a few crossings, he happily promotes Acadia as her captain.

Expedition Coordinater First Mate Roseanna Dodwell

Roseanna proudly coming from the city of sails, Auckland New Zealand started out as one of the first female sea scouts in New Zealand's oldest Sea Scout Groups. After a full and impressive sports and academic education finishing with a Bachelors of Science with Honors in Business and Management she made her way out to the world, traveling and teaching through South Africa before making her way back to the ocean where her passion for adventure and growth has had her as Mate/Chef for the past seven years. Holding her Padi Dive Master with nearly 1000 divers and Yacht Master Offshore with multiple crossings and global destinations under her belt alongside her passion for everything in, under and over the water has this care for the health and wellbeing of our blue planet at the top of her priority list.

Deckhand & Stew Callum Hughes

Callum has been exposed to the hospitality industry from quite a young age and through this, has acquired a real passion for service, which he demonstrates well on board Acadia. After working his way up at a number of established shore-based venues back home in the UK while studying, he was ready to stretch out further and start seeing a bit more of the world all while continuing working in a role he had enjoyed so much over the years. Back in 2021, a move to the South of France introduced a career in yachting and he hasn’t looked back since. Callum’s work thus far has found him spoiled with information on other cultures and cuisine’s as well as aquatic life and its diversity in different oceans, which he looks forward to add to and share with others.
